Thank you everybody who entered this year?s Just Effing Entertain Me Screenwriting Competition! We had a RECORD number of entries this year and the judges are hard at work as we speak.
Thank you to Dianna Zimmerman, our judging coordinator this year, for maintaining her sanity during this Script Tsunami, and to all the judges who are working round the clock to return scores and log lines. We had some REALLY interesting titles come in ? I wish I could mention those here that really tickled me but we shall see whether the scripts live up to the titles! Dianna will be gathering some interesting stats on the male/female entrant and genre breakdowns soon.
Just a couple of FAQs:
1. I have received a surprising number of emails asking if writers can still enter, past the deadline. In short, no. Sorry about that, but the rules do not bend for anyone. Would you want to enter a competition in which that was okay? Of course not. That said, watch this space; we would be pleased to see you participate next year.
2. The quarterfinalists will be announced here on Just Effing on August 18th.
3. No, entrants will not be notified individually. Please check the website on August 18th.
In fact, here are all the announcement dates:
Quarterfinalists: August 18th, 2012
Semi-finalists: September 12th, 2012
Finalists: October 1st, 2012
Grand Prize: October 10th, 2012
