Haunted Brings Adventure Gaming To PC Dec 11th

published: 2012-11-19 13:49:43

The adventure genre is alive and well in a PC game all about death, Haunted. Publishers Viva Media and dtp Entertainment have today announced that the point-and-click trek through the world of the dead will be making an appearance in the U.S. on Dec. 19.

In Haunted, the player takes on the role of Mary, a girl who is desperately searching for her most-likely-dead sister. And when you?re looking for a possibly dead person, there?s no better place to search than the realm of ghosts. As Mary, the player will visit 19th century London, Transylvania and Scotland while interacting with ghostly NPCs, solving puzzles and taking on various challenges.

Taking on the matter of death with a strong comic slant, Haunted features more than 30 characters to get to know, a unique cooperative team-play mechanic and the ability to turn on a solution assistant if any of the game?s scenes or puzzles gets to be too difficult.

Adventure games have seen a resurgence of late, kickstarted by Double Fine?s now legendary (ahem) Kickstarter campaign, as well as the massive success of such creative new genre titles like Telltale?s The Walking Dead. Players trade non-stop action and guns galore for a more methodical experience that focuses on the story and stretching the player?s mind in order to solve tricky puzzles, combine items and explore their environment. Haunted looks to help reanimate the genre nicely when it travels between the land of the living and the realm of the dead on Dec. 11 for $19.99. The game is also looking for upvotes on Steam's Greenlight right now as well.
