Title: Land Acquisition Real Estate Specialist
Location: Alabama-Metro Birmingham/Eastern AL
This position will primarily function as "negotiator/buyer" for land and land rights to support Alabama Power Company's core business needs. Moderate travel is required. The position will be filled at a level dependent on the knowledge and experience of the successful candidate. This position is located at the Birmingham Corporate HQ with no relocation assistance available.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will generally be responsible for the following:
Function as negotiator/buyer for transmission line acquisition and fee land acquisition projects
Function as negotiator/buyer for Special Projects
Learn roles and responsibilities of Project Lead

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Experience:
Prior Corporate Real Estate - Acquisition Department experience desirable
Experience with the legal aspects of land, land rights, and land transactions
Distribution/Transmission engineering experience is desirable
Mapping experience is desirable
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Good negotiation skills - ability to resolve conflict
Basic knowledge of appraisal activities and land valuation
Knowledge of surveying and or surveying processes is desirable
Knowledge of GIS technology is desirable
Strong organization skills
Ability to multi-task
Strong time management skills
Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers as well as internal and external customers.
Ability to exercise leadership
