Soup brand New Covent Garden Soup Co is using?seasonal?vegetables with its latest ?Suitable for Vegetarians? Soup?of the Month.

?Shaheen?s Butternut Squash & Black Turtle Beans with?Jalapeno Peppers? is the latest soup recipe to have?emerged from New Covent Garden?s social media?campaign, which invites soup fans to submit recipes?based on a particular theme.

September?s theme, ?Suitable for Vegetarians?, called for recipes which?championed meat-free ingredients and showed off the best seasonal?vegetables.

Nigel?Parrott, Group Marketing Director said:

?We had an overwhelming response to our ?Suitable for Vegetarians? theme,?which highlights the growing popularity of vegetarian cuisine.

?More and more consumers are now seeking alternatives to meat.

?This?trend is a result of both the growing understanding of the fantastic flavours?meat-free foods can deliver, and a growing awareness of the importance of?including more fresh vegetables in our daily diet.

?Shaheen?s soup is the perfect example of delicious vegetarian cuisine.

?Not?only does half a carton contain two of our five-a-day recommended portions of?fruit and vegetables, its earthy, spicy flavour proves how tasty meat-free food?can be.?

The soup is hoping to boost the profile of vegetarian food in a wider sense?with an on-pack reference to ?Meat-Free Mondays?, a campaign run by New?Covent Garden?s sister brand, Linda McCartney.

Butternut Squash & Black Turtle Beans is available in outers of six, with an?RRP of ?2.20.
